5 Tips to save petrol!
This is what happen when there’s a petrol hike!
SInce that we can do nothing now for the increase, perhaps we should look into how to save petrol! I’d personally try on the below and works well so far.
1. Pump petrol early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. The reason is the colder the ground is, the more dense the petrol is! When the ground gets warmer petrol expands,so buying in the afternoon or in the evening returns lesser litre you’re buying.
2. Fill up when your tank is HALF FULL. The reason for this is, the more fuel you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation.
3. Do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode when u’re filling up petrol. If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapours that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapour return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapour. Those vapours are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you’re getting less worth for your money.
4. Try not to on your aircon when the weather is cool. This saves quite some petrol as it used up 10% more of the petrol!
5. Try to always stay below rpm 2 when you’re driving. That’ll normally be driving at the speed of 60-80km/h. When the rpm exceed 2, the car will use up more petrol!
Hope this will help you get the most value for your money!!
